We had a very eventful end to the summer. Here are a few highlights:
Brandon's 11 year old scout camping trip to Ensign with Justin
Justin and I went on a really fun date to Seattle for our anniversary....starting with a trip around Lake Union in a boat. Here I am not doing a very good job at paddling around.
Cindy came to visit us! We had so much fun with her here. We tried our hand at the Xbox...
We went on a really neat hike to Rattlesnake Ridge
This is the lake at the bottom of the trail
Here is a look up at where the trail leads....yup....on top of that ridge
Here we are at the top of the summit! Whew! We made it! And it was worth it. Gorgeous views...
We did fondue
And we did a day up in Seattle at the Chihuly Glass Museum
And had lunch at the International Fountain
And said hi to the gum wall
We made homemade doughnuts
And played at the park
We played games
And we ate ice cream in cantaloupe! (It's a Maner thing.) :)
Smores!
Smore on the foot.
Painting shoes with friends. Yes, that is a thing.
Picking blueberries
We had a Ward Smores activity at the church
The girls sold lemonade and cookies for 25 cents each. Their friends came out to help too...
We finally let the kids do what they've wanted to do since we've lived here....and that is to trim back some blackberry bushes to create a little fort behind our fence with the neighbor girls
Swimming lessons!
Science experiments
And one last fling with friends at the splash park before school started
Weston was very curious about everything and made quite a few messes...
Here's Dylan's car we made him
And here are some pics from our fun family day trip on Labor Day up to Fort Casey and Deception Pass!!
We took our van on a ferry ride over to an island
And drove to Fort Casey
Then we went down the steep hill to the beach and had lunch. What a gorgeous day!
Awesome fort out of drift wood
Then on to Deception Pass and a walk over the super tall bridge between islands
And as an extra special treat, we went to the new Cafe Rio on the way home....too bad it is 1 hour away from us! But it was on the way!
YUM!
