10th Anniversary Weekend

Justin and I did something that we've never done before to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We had a weekend away from the kids, thanks to our friends Spencer and Amanda. The kids had a blast while we were away and Justin and I had a fabulous time together!

After dropping off the kids I went up to Seattle Friday evening to pick up Justin from work. We checked into a hotel and then went out to a very nice restaurant for dinner. Thankfully, we had gift certificates to two very nice restaurants to use that we've had for a year now and just haven't had a chance to use.

Our lovely dinner at Palasaide (our view was incredible!) with fresh rose petals on the table:

It's a good thing we had gift certificates. We spent as much on the tip as we usually do on a meal! Yep, figure that one out!

On Saturday we did some of our favorite things. We ate our favorite doughnuts for breakfast and bought some fresh cherries from the farmers market.

As we walked around we found a little alley that we'd never seen before. You really have to see it to believe it.

Can you tell what that is on the wall below?

Here's a hint.......GUM.......and lots of it. Layer after layer.

Aren't those dripping gum icicles artistic? Here's what I think about that.

It was a gorgeous day. We loved just sitting out on the waterfront talking!

And of course we had to get our favorite ice cream - double scoop!

And then the highlight of the day....we went to see Les Miserables! We have not had a chance to see it before and let me tell you, it was life changing! The music was incredible and I was just a mess. Lots of tissue!

Before we headed home we ate at Wild Ginger with our other gift certificate and really enjoyed the food there too. Yummy!

I really missed the kids and was happy to see them when we got home. What a wonderful weekend! I loved having Justin all to myself for a whole day!

Yeah, I was a mess too after watching it. Incredible! So glad you were able to celebrate your wonderful 10 years. Can't wait to catch up to you! :)

We saw it at Tuachan - I was a mess too! There were so many amazing songs but I remember sobbing when Jean Valjean sings Bring Him Home.

Happy DECADE!! Wahoo! Crazy, eh? I'm so happy you guys got to have a special weekend. Les Mis is our FAVORITE. Coy gauges all musicals next to Les Mis, and it's just not fair. It was the first one he'd ever seen, and nothing will EVER compare. :)
