We had a fun, busy February this year! Here are some pictures that capture some of the highlights:
Daddy dates are the best!
Lindsey got a butterfly habitat for Christmas, so we ordered some caterpillars. They started out so cute and small, but they quickly got fat and bumpy!
Weston loves playing the piano
Brandon competed at the Global Reading Challenge on a district level after his team at his elementary school won. They did great!
We went for an hour drive up into the mountains one Saturday to go sledding. And it was SO windy and cold! And there was so much snow. But we braved it!!
Weston didn't last long, so Justin and I had fun entertaining him in the warm van while the other kids played.
Here are my rosy cheeked kids!
The kids had a week off of school for Mid Winter Break, so we tried to find some fun things to do, even thought it was pretty wet outside
Yep, that's Brandon learning how to sew!
Everyone made a custom snake out of fabric they chose from my fabric box
When the sun came out we bundled up and got outside
One day we went up to the temple
And we had friends Natalie and Katrina over to play one day. All in all, a great week!
Here is Justin trying to learn a song from the girls
Days when Daddy gets to work from home are the best!
Big boxes are the best too!
Lately the girls have loved to get blankets and pillows outside to do art projects on the lawn
Dylan's rainbow
Valenine's Day was super fun this year. We decided to do fondue with the kids! And it was a big hit!
I made a yummy cheese fondue and we dipped all kids of things in it.
And then for dessert we did a Heavenly Hot Fudge fondue with strawberries, bananas, marshmellows, pretzels and apples. Is that fondue overload?
On a Saturday we had an epic nerf gun battle, to finally break in the nerf guns the girls got for Christmas.
Has anyone heard of the Seattle Seahawks? Well, they are the Super Bowl Champions. And let me tell you, it has been a big, BIG deal around here! Everyone had Seahawk fever! The kids had Seahawk homework assignments, and did Seahawk crafts at school.
Here's one of the hats Katelyn came home with
We decided not to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday (we did check in on the score from time to time), but there was no mistaking the outcome of the game. Talk about noisy! Fireworks going off, car horns honking, people yelling in the streets.
The next night we decided to have a Super Bowl party for our Family Home Evening, eat yummy food and watch highlights from the game.
Katelyn decorated her homework in Seahawk style for a couple of weeks
After the Superbowl was over, Seattle held a parade in honor of the team and it was so crazy! There were over a million people in downtown Seattle that day, cramming the streets. The kids who didn't skip school (like mine.....we didn't want to brave the freezing temperatures and crazy crowds that day!) got to sit in school for most of the day while watching the local news station stream live the parade and Seahawk happenings. Here is a picture of Justin waiting in a crazy long line trying to get on a train to get home from work that day. There were so many people!
We experienced our first church cancellation since we've moved here. It snowed a couple of inches, and that pretty much shuts things down here. Snow days with Daddy are the best!
Charlie figured out really quickly where he wanted to spend the day
Hot chocolate!
And this is how we warm up
Gotta love a warm fire!
What a busy, fun month!
