Getting Settled

It has been good to be back in Utah. Our time here has been filled with lots of unpacking, organizing, getting things back to normal, visiting with family and friends and just trying to enjoy our time with Justin before he gets super busy with school.

We enjoyed some time in South Jordan with my family with a wedding and family picnic.

Our trip was cut short with a bout of food poisoning though. My family all got sick and we somehow didn't. They are still trying to recover from it, and it happened last Saturday.

Since getting back the kids have been very excited about their bike and tricycle (among other things; it's been better than Christmas around here). Brandon has finally learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. We had tried a little before we left for Seattle, but he was definitely ready when we got back. Lindsey has really caught on to riding the trike too. I think she's going to outgrow it soon.

An empty church parking lot is a great place to practice riding a bike!

I love that he's wearing his rubber boots (another thing that the kids have missed this summer) and his knee pads. We also had some races with the bikes versus the stroller. I came close to winning a time or two running with the stroller.

Katelyn has fallen in love with our keyboard since coming back. She wants to sit up there and either play on it or we'll turn on the demo music and she'll dance to it multiple times a day.

We went into Provo Canyon for a picnic dinner the other night. It was just beautiful!

So even though we miss our waterfront view in Seattle, it's good to be at home with our stuff again. This next year is going to fly, so we're just trying to enjoy this stage in our lives as much as we can. (By the way, when we were driving back to Utah and got some gas in Idaho, we felt the hottest temperatures we'd felt all summer. Seattle summers are mostly in the 70's!)

I loved seeing the pictures and videos of the kids riding their trike and bike. They are really growing up. All the pictures are really good and the Katelynn pictures are also good. Maybe she will be a great pianist! Thanks for the updates. Love, Mom
