Expect the Unexpected

We had a nice Christmas and will post about it soon. Christmas afternoon we left for Utah to visit Jenn's family and to go to her sister Erin's wedding. Unfortunately the flu hit so we couldn't be there on her special day. On Thursday, the day after the wedding, Jenn's water broke at 6:15am. She has been admitted to the hospital and will not be transferred to Seattle. She is 32 weeks along and they are really hoping to push out the pregnancy at least two more weeks. Once the baby is born, he will be in the NICU for some time. So at this point we don't know how long Jenn and the baby will be in Utah. Thankfully, we have lots of help from family here watching the kids and giving us support.

The most recent ultrasound found two additional defects, one with the bladder and another with the stomach. The problems are both correctible and not as serious as the heart condition. However, these defects further indicate a chromosomal disorder.

We will be fasting for Jenn and the baby this Sunday. We really appreciate the thoughts, prayers, concern, and generosity of so many on our behalf.

We will also be thinking of Jenn, the sweet little baby, and the rest of your family. All of you will be in our prayers! I can only imagine how unsettling having to expect the unexpected must be. This must be a very special spirit who needs a wonderful family like yours! We wish for you comfort and peace!

ANYTHING she needs, let us know. We're so sorry you guys are going through this. You're in our prayers. If anyone needs a place to stay, they're welcome here.
