Baby Visit

We had another visit to the hospital today to check on our little baby. Another hour long ultrasound, lots of measuring this and that, and then our appointment with the doctor. I have been very grateful for the compassionate people that we have been able to work with so far. We had not had the best experiences before the bad news came, but we have been very pleased with everyone we have worked with at Swedish.

The news: basically the only new information we got is that the little guy's hydrocephalus is getting a little bit worse. This is not good news. Our hope was that the fluid levels would stay constant and in the mild range or even decrease. But now he is verging on moderate hydrocephalus. What does this mean in the long run? We still don't really know. But we will continue to pray and hope for the best! I'm afraid that this is going to be a long road, and we have to wait for a lot of answers. We will continue to get more information a little bit at a time.

How are we doing? Pretty well most of the time. It is hard to feel helpless and to have to be patient. It is all in the Lord's hands.

One positive thing today....we got to see our cute little guy's face again. Here are a couple of pics they sent us home with:

His perfect little foot

Can you see his sideways nose and mouth? And he's playing peek-a-boo with his arm covering his eyes.

That's all for now. More appointments in two weeks, four weeks, and six weeks.

I've been thinking about you and your little guy on the way. I'm sorry that the news wasn't as good as you had hoped. But like you said, there are so many perfect things about him, too. He is coming to a perfectly loving family, that is for SURE.

I'm so sorry the news isn't what you'd hoped for. Love the peek-a-boo picture--it's those sweet little things that I always needed. You're in our prayers.
